Offered is an antique Underwood standard typewriter, Model No. 5. Measures approximately 8" high, 16" wide and 12" deep. Black finish with Underwood logo trademark on top above carriage and "Underwood Standard Typewriter No. 5" on bottom beneath keys. Nice gold art deco lines. Sides are open. Glass keys to include red & black ribbon keys. Ribbon included that is old and needs replacing. Last patent date is July, 1913. I couldn't find the serial number. Weight is 29 lbs.
The typewriter is esthetically in good shape, with some dings on the enameled paint. Needs a new ribbon. Once ribbon is inserted properly the typewriter does work. Three keys do stick, but go back where they're supposed to when pushed. "Typewriter" below the keys has paint loss, as does "No. 5" on either side. Three of the four protective feet on bottom are missing. Needs cleaning.
