Manufactured by AEG (Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft), Germany
Silvered brass, wicker handles with minor separation to weave on one handle
one screw missing on inside. Slightly misshapen spout opening
iconic early industrial design. Behrens' work for the AEG constitutes
the first true foray into the integration of art & industry. Walter
Gropius, Le Corbusier and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe all apprenticed in
Peter Behrens' architecture office.
