Antique SETH THOMAS Key Wind 8 Day Adamantine Mantel Clock- Bell & Gong- Runs
Offered here is a very nice late 1800s antique black and green faux marble adamantine wood shelf mantel clock by The Seth Thomas Clock Company of Conn.
It features ornate bronze toned columns, lion heads on each side, ornate feet,
a brass bezel with beveled glass dial surround and a gilded ornate tin dial face with arabic numerals.
There is green faux marble on the top and accenting the front and sides.
The movement is a very clean 8 day all brass key wind system with hourly chimes
on a nice sounding coiled gong and half hour strike on a bright sounding brass bell.
There are only a few small expected marks on the cabinet and a few very minor sections of missing celluloid adamantine,
and this clock is running and chiming correctly.
The brass bezel shows some age appropriate patina and the beveled glass is clean and undamaged.
Everything appears to be original and there is no damage, loose or missing pieces or repairs.
The original paper label on the back is all there.
A pendulum bob and key are included.
Measurements are 16 3/4" wide x 11 1/4" tall x 6 3/4" deep. The dial face is 5" in diameter.
I do not service the clocks I sell, but report the physical and running condition to the best of my ability, and it is being sold as found.
That said, this is a very nice clock that should run well for many years and will add quality and style to your home.
Any antique or vintage clock should be routinely cleaned and serviced at occasional intervals over the years.
