Seller: lubman77 (274) 100%, Location: Pompano Beach, Florida, Ships to: US, Item: 122244382459 LIFETIME COLLECTION OF 57 LARGE, UNUSUAL, FINE ANTIQUE KEYS I've collected antique locks and keys for the last 45 to fifty years. I ended up with several hundred keys of varying sizes. I'm now retired and decided to sell most of my many collections. When I started collecting there was no internet or anything like ebay. I went to hundreds of flea markets and antique shows looking for antique locks and keys. Very old good ones were difficult to find. When I would find a fine key at an antique dealer, they would often ask for high prices. In the last twenty years or so, ebay and other computer dealers, showed keys that couldn't be found in fifty years of flea market and antique show shopping. In the last 6 months I set aside 57 of the finest, oldest, largest and most unusual keys in my collection. Some came from France, Spain and other European centers. The groups that I've selected have no duplicates and just a few show sealed slight sign of oxidation. Most are fine quality iron. Some are several hundred years old. I separated these 57 keys into five groups. In looking at them I recall paying between $10 to $35 each for them. The first two keys that I ever bought was from a N.Y. dealer. They are in group 1. … I paid $50 each for those two rare keys. That was my start. I enjoyed and displayed most of my collections. Now I’m retired and it’s time to move on. Unlike many of the lots of keys that I've seen on ebay, in the last month or two, There are no reproductions, and no duplicates in this collection, many are of fine rare Victorian, quality iron. Lately on ebay, I’ve seen large Victorian keys very similar to those in my group 1, 3, 4 and 5, many going for over one hundred dollars each. Lastly, many of the keys are fine iron barrel keys. To better judge the size of each key aside from the red start-up photo, I added several photos from each group, with a ruler for accurate scale. Please study my photos carefully. Since most of all my keys were purchased one at a time, the collection became a costly involvement. All the keys were hand picked over these many years, from dealers one at a time. My original costs totaled over $700. The collection weighs 8.6 pounds. I’m asking $150 for this lifetime collection. A true value for any collector, especially a new collector. I will ship these in a USPS Medium size Priority Mail Flat Rate Box. Cost to all U.S. is buyers $13.45.If anyone is interested, I have dozens of good quality smaller barrel keys, skeleton keys, old folding keys. etc.I may list them in the next few weeks. Thanks Condition: Some are in excellent condition. Please read description in listing.
