Handpainted Nippon Floral Gilt Moriage
Double Handle (1891-1921)
This is a lovely old genuine Nippon hand-painted floral two-handled vase. It is in great condition for age and dates between 1891 and 1921. These are the years that the McKinley Tariff Act required that all porcelain be marked with the country of origin. Though "Nippon" translates "Japan", it wasn't until 1921 that the U.S. Government changed its position to having the porcelains marked Japan instead of Nippon.
The color is vibrant with very little paint loss. No cracks or chips. This beautiful vase measures about 6 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches wide.
