Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this lovely antique teapot.
I found this in the east of France but it could also be German. It is very early since it does not have the name of the country on it so it was made before the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 which required all ceramic and porcelain be marked with the country of origin.
So I would think if she is French she might represent Marie Antoinette and if she is German she might represent Cici, both were considered very beautiful women.
She has her hair done with flowing curls and swept up off of her sweet face with a flower in it. She is wearing a white and blue dress with large lace cuffs. It is cold in thoses castles so she is warming her hands with her cup of tea.
She is very old but the only thing I could find was two nips on the underside of the teapot lid as seen in the photo. There is some glaze crazing which is normal for antique and vintage faience and majolica.
She measures 6 inches wide from handle to spout and stands 9 inches tall.
She will be double boxed for safe shipping.
