Ancient Rod-Formed Miniature Glass Jug, 1st - 4th Century A.D. (#G8)

Colorful miniature core/rod-formed glass jug with single handle.

Too small to serve as vessels, these miniature jugs were probably worn suspended by the handle. The jugs are thought to have been amulets or used for specific content, may be filled with holy water from pilgrim sites. They were made using rod-formed techniques, and most likely made by bead manufacturers.
