Seller: rd2013dr (707) 100%, Location: ROCHFORD, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 262707426647 A Lovely Example Of A UK Found Incomplete Neolithic Flaked Flint Axe Head Description - An Incomplete Neolithic Flaked Axe Head Broken And Possibly Utilised As A Scraper, Dating To The Period c. 3500 - 2200 BC. The Axe Head Measures 43.54mm In Length, 35.08mm In Width, Has A Maximum Thickness Of 13.34mm, Tapering To 3.77mm At The Blade End. The Axe Head Was Originally A Clough Type B With A Lenticular, Or Pointed Oval Cross Section. It Has Been Broken Near The Blade End. It Has Been Bifacially Flaked Using Covering Scaled Low Angle Flaking. No Trace Of Cortext Remains. There Is Short Scaled Semi-Abrupt Retouch Visible Along One Mesel Edge, Indicating That The Fragment May Have Been Repurposed As A Scraper After Breaking. The Flint Is A Glossy Dark Grey Colour, With Slight Re-Patination On One Face Only, Visible As A Milky Grey Colour. This Flaked Flint Axe Head Has Been Recorded With The Portable Antiquities Scheme - PAS Number - EFDA01 Weight - 33.48g Material: Flint
