My name is Laurent Ashton Siegel. I am one of the nation’s foremost experts on the forensic examination of graphic artworks such as Lithographs, Etchings, Linocuts, and other Prints by Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. I have assisted Federal and State Law Enforcement Agencies as consultant and expert witness leading to the apprehension of many counterfeiters, forgers and contraband. My Curriculum Vitae are composed of a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California and 16 years of experience as a licensed financial and fine art consultant.

I have screened and examined over 9 million auctions during the last 9 years at the rate of approximately 20,000 auctions per week.  This hard work has resulted in the development of  a proprietary method for the detection of authentic and counterfeit artworks on the Internet. In the spirit of sharing this knowledge with the public, I am prepared to offer any member of the public a 40 minute phone consultation on any Salvador Dali or Pablo Picasso artwork for the reasonable fee of $29 which basically covers my expenses and donates 10% to the American Red Cross.  All phone conversations will take place on a recorded phone line. The Purchase and Acceptance of this consulting agreement creates a mutual agreement for both parties to be recorded at all times.  In some cases, upon unconditional verification of the artwork's authenticity, I may be able to issue a hand signed Certificate of Authenticity at no additional charge.  The COA will be faxed and a hard copy sent via US mail.   

Although many experts charge between $100-$200 for a Certificate of Authenticity, I offer this service to the public for a nominal fee which is designed to be an act of good faith with hopes of strengthening the safety and efficiency in the Internet’s market for rare fine works of art by Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. The evaluation may require photographs sent via email to perform thorough due diligence. In some cases, scientific analysis will have to be performed on the artwork which will require it be removed from its frame and closely examined. Moreover, the owner may have to sign a statement of ownership and verification of the artwork being examined. This consulting fee will also cover consultation via telephone for works of art that I may determine to be counterfeits or forgeries. In some rare cases, what the client requires may be beyond my scope of expertise. In this event, I will make a best efforts attempt to obtain information from another team of experts. If, I cannot make a firm determination, the client's money will be refunded promptly.

Although, Dali and Picasso are my specialization, please feel free to email me any Internet auction numbers of other artist's works in question. In the event that I believe I can make an accurate determination, I will prompt you to retain my services or refer you to an expert that may be able to assist you.  My proprietary database of some of the Internet's largest suspected criminals and sources of questionable artworks may identify a seller that has a high percentage of fraudulent artworks in their inventory and a history of selling fraudulent works.  In this case, I will inform the client of the modus operandi of said suspected criminals and the client can utilize the information, before making their decision to purchase a potentially fraudulent artwork.  Please keep in mind that many sellers of fraudulent artwork are victims themselves.  In many cases, the seller does not know that they are selling a fraudulent artwork.  In this case, the client should consider amicable resolution with the seller.
