Seller: pennantique (3,514) 99%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: US, Item: 262741510583 Penn Antique Restoration 31"x89"x1.75 Antique Interior Cherry Door w/6 Raised Panels Grand, antique, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid Douglas Fir core covered with 3/16" cherry veneers, and features 6 recessed panels. Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Hardware: The door comes without hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store. * If you would like any of the hardware holes patched with solid wood, email us for a quote. Quirks & Considerations: The door was used as a swinging door, and was hung using large hinges (see photos). If you need the door a full 31"W or wider, we could fill the hinge mortises with solid wood--email us fir a quote. Condition: On the painted side, there is some chipped veneer in the upper right-hand corner. On the stained side, there is some chipped veneer in the lower left corner. There is also a 14.5" split in the side of the door, stemming from the top of the bottom hinge mortise to the bottom corner (see photos). The split must have occurred when the door was removed. Perhaps they had a tough time removing the lower hinge and pried the door off of the frame. The split could be closed using glue and clamps. Otherwise, this door is in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Swing: Since the door was installed as a swinging door, the door doesn't have a defined "interior" or "exterior" sides. You could install it to swing in any direction. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace panels with glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
