Seller: pennantique (3,515) 99%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: US, Item: 262741522830 Penn Antique Restoration 31.5"x83.5"x1.75" Antique Interior Door w/5 Recessed Panels Beautiful, antique, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid, chestnut core covered with 1/16" thick, oak veneers. There are 5, horizontal, recessed panels on both sides of the door. Also, please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are almost 1/16" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Also note that chestnut is a rare and valuable wood; it’s not commercially available due to the blight introduced between 1900 & 1908, which made the North American chestnut trees virtually extinct by 1940. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store. * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with a solid wood, please email us for a quote. Condition: On the exterior side of the door, there is a small piece of missing veneer in the lower, left corner, and along the edge of the bottom rail, a triangular portion of veneer is delaminated and just needs to be re-secured with some glue. On the interior side, the top 2 panels have a few, small spots where the veneer is bubbling; there is some veneer missing or broken off from the bottom; and there are some chips in the top, left corner (see photos). We could repair these issues--email us for a quote. Otherwise, the door is very strong, sturdy, and in good overall condition. Most of the scrapes, scratches, and nail holes would be removed by sanding and/or filled with putty during the preparation phase prior to staining and finishing, or concealed once painted. Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Height: Someone unevenly cut the door by 5/8" at some point, most likely to compensate for a leaning foundation or warped floor. We could even the door's height to 83 3/8", cut it shorter, or build it up with solid wood to make it taller--email us for a quote. Swing: The door is currently set up to swing into the home towards the left. However, we can modify the door to swing in the opposite direction--email us for a quote. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace panels with glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Dimensions: 31 5/8"W x 83 3/8"-84"H x 1 3/4"D Too tall, short, wide or narrow? We could increase or decrease the height and/or width--email us for a quote. Shipping: MD, DC, DE, PA, NJ, NY, & New England: We deliver to these states every 2 - 3 weeks . Home delivery would be $75 - $125 depending on your location. Email us with the shipping zip code for an exact price. * If you need the item sooner or are located outside of our delivery range; we could crate and ship with a commercial freighter--email us for a quote. * Pick up in Scranton, PA is also welcome.
