Item:1724791054273 Sewing Needle Cases/Sterling/Leather/ Brass. Three different sewing needle cases. The sterling silver one has English hallmarks which possibly are: London, 1889. It is thin and flat measuring 1 3/8"L, has a loop at one end and pulls apart. (probably was once part of a chatelaine). The black leather case also pulls apart, has a gold-tooled design on one side, and is approx. 2 1/8"L. It holds a couple of sewing needles and some tiny blue buttons. The third case is what is called a mitrailleuse. It is a brass cylinder approx. 2 1/4"L. One end is marked: "Magazine Needle Case" and has a dispensing hole. The other end is marked "Best English 100 Steel Needles Sharps". The condition for all three is very, very good considering their age and use. From personal collection.
