Seller: pennantique (3,516) 99%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: US, Item: 262741510586 Penn Antique Restoration ~ 2 available ~ 32"x79"Antique French Swinging Door w/8 Beveled Lites *Although there are 2 doors available, the list price is for 1 door. If the quantity above is 1, this indicates that 1 door sold and only 1 is available.* * If you are planning on purchasing only 1 door, email us after the auction to let us know which of the 2 doors you would like.* Fantastic, antique, swinging door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. Each door is made of some type of hardwood, possibly birch, but I can't tell for certain until a good amount of the paint could be removed. Both doors have a beautiful arrangement of 8, true-divided, beveled glass lites. The doors were previously used as a "swinging doors," which meant that they had spring-loaded, pivot hinges installed in their bottom corners, and swung both forward and backward like a saloon style door. The doors no longer have their pivot hinges or push plates. However, just because they were used as a swinging doors, doesn't mean that you have to. We could cut off the rounded sides and trim the doors to 31" or 30"W, or we could cut and then add to the sides to widen to 32" or wider. We could also cut the height of the door to just above of the area where the hinge was installed (which would make each door 78 1/2"), or if you need the height or need it taller, we could plug the mortised area and even add to it. Look at the last photos of another door that we modified as an example. Condition: (see photos) Each door has a break in its upper corner where the upper pivot hinge was installed, as well as some chips along the edges. The break and opening for the former pivot hinge could be plugged with solid wood. We could do that as well as make any other repairs that you see fit--email us for a quote. Otherwise, both doors are strong and sturdy and only have minor cosmetic blemishes that you would expect to find on 100+ year old doors. Most of the scrapes, scratches, and nail holes would be removed by sanding and/or filled with putty during the preparation phase prior to staining and finishing, or concealed once painted. All of the glass is intact and in great shape with only subtle scratches, which come from decades of use. Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with mirrors or privacy glass, install hardware, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Shipping: MD, DC, DE, PA, NJ, NY, & New England: We deliver to these states every 2 - 3 weeks . Home delivery would be $100 - $150 depending on your location.
