Seller: pennantique (3,516) 99%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: US, Item: 262735705759 Penn Antique Restoration 29.5"x86"x1.75"a Antique Interior Door w/Single Panel Gorgeous, unusual, antique, interior door salvaged from an old row house in Harlem, NY. The door has a solid oak core covered with 3/16" thick birch veneers on one side and 3/16" thick oak veneers on the other. It has a single, recessed (flat) panel on both sides. Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are very thick and provide strength and stability to the door. This door could be refinished many times without sanding down to the core wood. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door (check out our eBay store). * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Quirks & Considerations: It looks like someone intended to cut the door to an even 85 5/8", but didn't follow through. As a result, a portion the stiles is missing. We could fill in the missing portions with solid wood to make the door an even 86 1/2", cut it shorter, or build it up to make it taller--email us for a quote. The width of the door was also unevenly cut by 1/4" at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut the door to an even 29 3/8", cut it narrower, or even build it up to make it wider--email us for a quote. The door was originally set up to swing into a room towards the right, but someone plugged all of the hardware holes and drilled new ones to make the door swing in and to the left. They did a good job, but the patches are noticeable. They will be invisible if painted, and slightly noticeable if stained (the darker the stain, the less noticeable). Condition: The door is in great condition and only has the typical nicks, scrapes, and scratches that you would expect to find on an old, used door. However, once the door is sanded for a new coat of paint, or stripped to refinish, most of these blemishes will be removed by sanding. What remains will be covered by paint or stain, and only appear as subtle "character marks." Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Swing: The door is currently set up to swing into a room towards the left, or away from the room towards the right. We could make it swing in the opposite direction--email us for a quote. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace panels with glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Dimensions: 29 3/8" - 29 5/8" W x 85 5/8" - 86 1/2" H x 1 3/4" D Too tall, short, wide or narrow? We could increase or decrease the height and/or width--email us for a quote. Shipping: MD, DC, DE, PA, NJ, NY, & New England: We deliver to these states every 2 - 3 weeks . Home delivery would be $75 - $125 depending on your location.
