Seller: pennantique (3,515) 99%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: US, Item: 262741522824 Penn Antique Restoration 28"x82.5"x1.75"a Antique Interior Door w/Single Panel Handsome, antique, interior door salvaged from an old home in Brooklyn, NY. The door has a solid birch core covered with 1/8" thick birch veneers. It has a single, recessed (flat) panel and is stained and finished on both sides. Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Just to give you an idea of the quality of this door; most doors this size weigh 30 - 40lbs. This door weighs 63lbs! They definitely don't make them like this anymore. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door (check out our eBay store). * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Condition: (see photos) On the exterior side of the door, a long, thin portion of the lock stile and the molding of the panel, broke off and was glued back in place. It wasn't glued back tightly enough, and there was a thin gap exposing the fresh wood below. We filled it in with a dark-colored wood putty, which could be stained or painted. There are a few, shallow, cracks in the veneer in the upper corners of the door, and a small piece off from the bottom, right corner on the exterior side. Otherwise, the door is great shape with no serious flaws like broken or damaged joints, deep cracks or dents, rot, or warp. It is built like a rock and ready for a few more lifetimes of service. Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photos in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Swing: The door is currently set up to swing into a room towards the left, or away from the room towards the right. We could make it swing in the opposite direction--email us for a quote. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace panels with glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Dimensions: 27 3/4" W x 82 1/2" H x 1 3/4" D Too tall, short, wide or narrow? We could increase or decrease the height and/or width--email us for a quote.
