Seller: pennantique (3,514) 99%, Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania, Ships to: US, Item: 272464303766 Penn Antique Restoration 28"x 83"x1.75" Antique Interior Arts & Crafts Oak Door w/ Single Panel Handsome, antique, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid oak core covered with 1/8" thick oak veneers. Please don't think that "veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture, these veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Hardware: The door comes without hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store. * If you would like any of the hardware holes patched with solid wood, email us for a quote. Quirks & Considerations: Originally, this door was a part of a pair of double doors. We acquired the door without it's mate, and simply removed it's astragal (stop molding or divider strip) and flushbolts so that it could be used as a single door. The mortises from the flushbolts remain (see 3rd photo), however, we could plug them with solid wood--Email us for a quote. Condition: There is some chipped and missing veneer from the bottom of the exterior side of the door. On the interior side of the door, a tiny piece of veneer in the upper right corner is chipped. There are shallow veneer cracks on the top rails on both sides. These cracks are only veneer deep (cosmetic), and do not penetrate through the core of the door. They are only cosmetic and do not require repair. Just add some wood putty/filler prior to staining or painting. Otherwise, the door is strong, sturdy, and in great shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photo in this auction as an example of our work. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Swing: The door is currently set up to swing inwards, towards the right. However, we can modify it to swing towards the right--Email us for a quote. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace panel with glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Dimensions: 27 5/8" W x 83 1/2" H x 1 3/4" D Too tall, short, wide, or narrow? We could increase or decrease the height and/or width--Email us for a quote.
