Get $7 Cash back if you send me your old defective 3-hour B&D charger;
How does this cash back process work?
When I send your new charger to you, I include a self addressed label that you can just tape over the original label I put on the box I just sent to you. Put your old B&D 3-hour charger in the box. The charger cannot be altered, such as opening either part of the charger. If you cut the wires and left at least 2 inches of wire on each portion, that is OK. Get $3 more for each additional charger sent to me. Then do either of the following;
1) YOU PAY POSTAGE - just add postage (parcel post is about $3-$4, but delivery confirmation is another $1 or so, or use Priority Mail which is $4.95 for a one pound box). You will get $7 sent back to your PayPal account once I receive it.
2) I PAY POSTAGE - email me and ask me to email you a pre-paid FedEx label. You must give me the box dimensions and your full mailing address in order for me to create the label, however. If you use a FedEx box, then just tell me that, and then the box dimensions are not required. Then just drop it off at any FedEx or Kinko's office, or put it in any FedEx drop box. But since I will be paying for the shipping instead of you with this method, your refund will only be $2.50.

I should be the least expensive seller of this item on eBay or anywhere, if you include shipping and handling! If not, send me an email with the URL or website and give me your zip code so I can verify the shipping costs. I am able to beat almost any other offer. To email me, simply click on the “Ask seller a question” link located in the upper right hand corner of this auction page.
I sell the ENTIRE line of Black and Decker ( B&D ) chargers, for all voltages (9.6, 12, 13.2, 14.4, 15.6, 16.8, 18 and 24 volts), for both the Slide-on and Post-type (or Stem-type) batteries. Bid/Buy with Confidence;
I have a 98.5% feedback rating, comprised of over 14,700+ total positive feedbacks.
You don’t get a rating like that by selling things that don’t work as advertised, or by treating customers with only the utmost respect!!!!!
I have a Bachelors Degree in Business (4-year degree) and an Associates Degree in Electronics Technology (2-year degree), so I am well versed in what I discuss below. I had a 22-year career with GE Healthcare involving electronics before I started this eBay business.
Shipping is always via either USPS 2-3 day Priority Mail, or FedEx 2-3 day air, or FedEx Ground Home Delivery (either way, you get the tracking number emailed to you). It is my choice. My auctions are shipped out almost every day of the week including Saturday, unless something unusual comes up, in which case they will be shipped out the following business day. Never does it take more than one extra day for me to ship an item. Overnight service is available also, for an additional fee (see the shipping section below for info on that). The shipping listed is for the 50 United States only. For other countries or US Territories, email me for a price quote.
Overnight FedEx service is no longer available;
I usually ship via FedEx 2-3 day air service, but standard FedEx overnight service is available for an additional charge (in which case you also get free insurance coverage up to $500). If you want next-day service, and FedEx offers it to your address, just choose that option when you pay (you'll have to use the drop-down box to select “NEXT DAY/Overnight” shipping. Be sure to give me a NON-PO box address if you want next day service, since FedEx cannot deliver to PO boxes (yet!). I was told that they are in negotiations with them to provide this service now, but do not currently offer it. If standard overnight service is NOT available to your address, I will refund you the extra fee paid. This rarely happens, and only occurs to addresses that are located in very rural locations.
Canada and Mexico Shipments:
These two countries are not too expensive to ship to. To email me, simply click on the “Ask seller a question” link located in the upper right hand corner of this auction page.
You can email me for a quote if you like, but the shipping fees are usually too high to make it worth your while. To email me, simply click on the “Ask seller a question” link located in the upper right hand corner of this auction page.
I must charge STATE sales tax of 5.6% on shipments to Wisconsin locations (or items picked up in Milwaukee). There are no additional shipping or handling fees to pick this item up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin other than the sales tax of 5.6%.
Please give me a CORRECT address and your phone number!!
If the Post Office cannot locate your address, the item will be returned to me. If this happens, I can either refund your auction payment (minus the original shipping fee, the return shipment delivery fee if any, the eBay listing fee, the selling auction fee and the PayPal fees if any), or I can ship it to another address if you pay another shipping fee of $4.99. So it is a good idea to provide me with your phone number in case I need to contact you. It is also a good idea to be sure your email and physical addresses on your PayPal and eBay accounts are correct and up to date.
If the FedEx cannot locate your address, and it is incorrectly given to me, then there will be a $10 fee charged to you in order to receive your package. That is what FedEx will charge me, and I just pass the charge on to you for providing me with an incorrect address. Sorry!
I ***WILL*** combine shipping!
If you would like more than one of an item on an auction, or win more than one of my auctions, just contact me by clicking on the "Ask Seller a Question" link in the upper right-hand portion of this auction page. Usually, the fee is about $1.49 more per additional pound of weight, but not always. Some auctions are special. If you wait to pay for all the items you buy at once, then the combined shipped will be automatically calculated for you when you attempt to pay for any of the items.
All items may be returned within 7 calendar days of receiving the item. Full refund, minus shipping fees, will be given once the item is received back in the same working condition that it was sent to you in. You will be required to respond to an email from eBay saying that you returned the item (this allows me to recover my fees from eBay for your auction). All items are sold as-is. No warranty implied, since these items are electrical in nature, and lightning could strike your house with this item plugged in. I can’t be held responsible for situations like that, therefore all items are sold as-is. My feedback record should show you that I do NOT sell junk. I test all items thoroughly.
I only accept PayPal, per eBay’s new rules. But you can easily pay via your checking account, Visa or Mastercard through Paypal also. WI residents will be required to pay 5.6% State sales tax. Free Pick Up in Milwaukee, WI. Email me by clicking on the link entitled "Ask seller a question" located in the upper right-hand corner of this auction page if you want to make other arrangements. Please pay within 7 days. If you don’t, a non-paying bidder report will be filed with eBay.
I will ONLY leave feedback after feedback has been left for me. Too often I have been threatened with negative feedback after I have left positive feedback in advance. Sorry about that, but it is what ALL the savvy sellers on eBay now do!
If you try to charge a defective battery, or an old battery with some defective (shorted) Ni-Cad cells inside, READ THE BELOW SECTION ABOUT THE BATTERY TEST. I don't want you to burn out your charger needlessly!
To check whether your battery is good or not, and to prevent burning out your 3-hour charger, go to the web page listed below. If you don’t have a voltmeter, try to find someone who does, as it is the only TRUE way to determine if you have a good battery or not. Battery packs are made up of numerous 1.2 volt Ni-Cad cells (10 of them in a 12-volt pack). And if even just one of those ten cells shorts out, it can cause your charger to burn out. Per the test below, if you try to determine whether your charger gets "warm" or not, you could make a terrible mistake and burn out your charger. Not many people can determine the difference between a "warm" transformer and one that is "hot"!
Often, these sellers have bought batteries that have been on someone’s shelf unsold for many months or years. A NiCad battery cell has approximately an 18-month shelf life, if not recharged. If the seller is unwilling to charge the battery for you, and you want a refund, you may be stuck shipping it back to them (with you paying shipping back to them, and possibly paying the shipping for a new battery sent to you).
The price may look good, but wait until the battery pack needs replacing (prematurely, as often they are made with inferior NiCad cells), or the tool needs servicing! Try to locate a dealer that sells parts or does repairs! Or find out FIRST what you have to do to get service, once you pay to ship it to them for repair! The cheap imports often use cheap materials that aren’t made to last like name-brand tools.
I have had numerous buyers tell me horror stories of auctions that purchased for information on how to fix their defective battery packs. 1) You can replace NiCad cells that are bad, BUT YOU CAN’T SOLDER THEM! Heat is NOT a friend to a NiCad cell… it makes their life MUCH shorter if exposed to excessive heat. They must be fusion welded, which produces virtually no heat. Fusion welders are VERY expensive! 2) Yes, there is a trick that you can apply a high voltage to a cell to “shock” it into pretending to be good again, BUT THIS IS A VERY TEMPORARY SOLUTION! The cell will very quickly revert back to its defective status in only a day or two usually.
Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations. For most manufacturers, this mean you NEVER leave your battery pack charging on a 3-hour charger for more than 5 hours (5 hours is needed to charge a battery fully if it has not been charged in a while)! Those 3-hour chargers constantly charge at .2 amps to .5 amps, even when fully charged. All that does is heat up the cells, and remember, heat is NOT a friend of the NiCad cell (see the below section on 1-hour chargers)! It will make the life of your battery pack much shorter. If at all possible, buy a timer and set it to be on for only 3 to 5 hours. You will get much longer life out of the battery pack that way.
