The U.S. Mint uncirculated coins in this set were struck on special presses using greater force than circulating coins, producing a sharp, intricately detailed image.  Due to these enhanced production methods, we categorize these as ‘specimen’ coins to differentiate them from the ‘business’ strike coins minted for circulation.
