Up for bid is a poster of Jeff Gordon.  An image of Jeff is in the background while his car is in the foreground.  Although Jeff’s fire suit is showing sponsorship from Pepsi Max, his car shown here also has sponsorship from his longtime sponsor DuPont.  In the small print at the bottom of the poster (doesn’t show up well here), it lists a copyright of 2010.  Based on this & research on the website racingreference.info, the car represented on the poster is his Cup car from the 2010 Shelby American race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  In that race, Jeff qualified 2nd.  He had a dominant performance all day.  Jeff led 219 laps out of 267 laps contested.  This was by far the most laps led by any driver.  The most led by one driver after him was 18 by race winner Jimmie Johnson, a teammate.  Ultimately, Jeff finished 3rd in the race.  His strong performance in this race moved him up to 13th in the points from 21st. Another significant fact concerning this poster is the car shown here.  This was the Car of Tomorrow (COT).  This particular car had a wing on the rear end (partially visible here) & the splitter on the front had brace bars.  3 races after the Las Vegas race, the car got a rear spoiler on it which replaced the wing.  Martinsville is the first track to have this updated car.  This was done because of concerns that the wing was causing cars to flip over despite having roof flaps.  One of the incidents that led to the change was the week after the Las Vegas race.  During the race in Atlanta, Carl Edwards was in an accident caused by Brad Keselowski.  Edwards spent many laps behind the wall getting repaired.  Late in the race, he returned to the track.  With about 2 or 3 laps left, Carl Edwards spun Keselowski’s car near the start/finish line causing the car to flip in the air and strike the wall roof first.  Keselowski got out of the car with no serious injuries while Edwards was parked by NASCAR for his actions.  He would be put on probation shortly after that. Poster will be shipped in a Priority mail tube. This poster is in good shape, but there’s a couple small flaws on it.  The upper left corner and the bottom left corner have a small piece of those areas removed likely caused by tape.  I’m selling this because I’ve decided to cut back on my poster collection a bit.  Good luck and happy bidding!!!
