Traditional Japanese Hakata doll is made of clay and destinguished as unglazed clay - ceramic doll manufactured since the early days of Japanese culture in Fukuoka Prefecture of Koyshu and Mimasu Hakata Studio is the one of the oldest and most famous in Japan.
This fisherman doll was made in the 1950's and features a net and a removable float that fits in his hand by a wire as well as his hat. Very popular during the Korean War this fellow is in great shape considering his age and all he has been through!.
