A portion of these from the group photo have already been sold to a museum. You may have your choice from the remaining ones. Prices are negotiable, as condition is different on each. The two in the photos have been sold, but the others are made exactly the same. The degree of color is different on each. I can send you detailed photo of the ones that are left if you can not come see these for yourself in Morristown, NJ. These are LARGE copper corbels dismantled from an important 1905 hospital complex in New Jersey. A number of other corbels were dismantled from this building about 10 years ago, but they left one building intact. This last building was the first to be torn down recently and I purchased these from the demolition company and had them removed individually. Photos show the corbels on the building today (before being removed) and in a documentary photo from the 1930s. The hospital was designed by the Newark architectural firm of Hurd & Sutton and cost over a million dollars to build. Each was custom made, along with a series of copper cornices, cupolas, oeil de boeuf windows and vents. Each corner of the building had four corbels, placed below the deep soffit. Strictly decorative, the corbels are a hollow shell, assembled with thin soldered joints. They are mounted to a building or wall by placing two small strips of wood and screwing in from the sides of the corbels. These will be great for use on another building or to be used inside for a console, fireplace, or installed at the ceiling in a large room. Condition: Condition varies on all of these, with the ones photoed being in very good condition. The soldered joints have separated on a number of the corbels, but all of them can be repaired. Some of them are missing caps at the bases, but I have caps from others that were used for parts, so there are no missing pieces. Some are in worse condition than others, so price will be determined based on this level. All of them can be repaired to perfection or used as is.
