18th Century Style Real Horn Sewing Needle Case (needlecase)
This needle case will be an elegant addition to your needlework basket or housewife, even for the guys in their haversacks or re-enacting kits.. Each is 4-1/4" long when the cap is in place and will accommodate needles or sewing awls over 2 inches long. The lid screws securely in place, with a hole drilled thru the top, so the needle case can be placed on a chatelaine or tied into your sewing case for safe keeping. The photos show the case with needles inside and the bottom photo with the cap screwed on. Please notice the variation in the natural coloring of the horn that only nature can provide. They are mainly the dark to black cowhorn, and made from using the thick dense part of the tips.
