| Sydney Hall was responsible for many fine maps in many publications during the early 19th century. His eye for detail was greatly admired and much copied and although his maps were not decorative, in the 17th and 18th century style, they served their purpose well during a period when maps were used much more for purpose than decoration.

Our Catalogue typically include rare books and decorative antique maps and prints by renowned cartographers, authors and engravers such as Ortelius, Speed, Blaeu, Anson, Cook, Gould and Audubon. Specific items not listed may be sourced on request.
The Classical Images website was created to allow easy access to areas of interest such as maps, atlases and prints by region/theme and cartographer/artist. Two means of searching have also been incorporated, the first by a conventional search engine the other a ”Search by Cartographer” function located in the left hand column of the "Online Catalogue" pages, which allows you to search for a particular cartographer alphabetically. Purchases have also been made easier giving the customer either the option of secure Online purchase or alternatively an Offline purchase option. All this and the shipping options are explained in detail in the ”Payment Options” page.
