The 6th Tour Stop and 14th Show ! on the Spring '92 Dead Tour - Night 1 ( of 2 ) at " Copps ! " ... clearly equaling Live-Dead Late Tour ! Canadian " Magic !! " - aka. a " Bobby ! & Jerry !! Night !!! " ... Bucket - Promised - Other One & Lovelight ! delivered ' Big ! ' by Weir ! -- and ... Althea - Shakedown - Dark Star ! - Space ! - Standing On The Moon ! delivered " Huge ! " - by Garcia ! !
Grateful Dead Fans !!! ... and Fans of Very-Rare ! " Canadian ! " Live-Dead !! Offered here is the " 1992 " CD Set ( Brand New / Factory-Sealed ! ) from the Legendary ! Grateful Dead " 30 Trips Around The Sun " Set - originally released in 2015 in direct conjunction with the much anticipated " 50-Years ! Celebration of The Grateful Dead " ( 1965 - 2015 ) ... GD 50 !!! And, to honor this Landmark ! Rock & Roll Achievement - Grateful Dead Productions / Rhino originally released a " 30-Years ! " Box Set - to rightfully ' Commemorate ' " '65 " ! And in unprecedented ( & So-Cool ! ) fashion ... this Monster Box Set included Thirty ( 30 ) Grateful Dead Shows on Thirty ( 30 ) CD Sets ( 80-CD's in total ) - and, each CD Set represents the sequential years of the Band's 30-Year development ... from 1966 to 1995 ! Obviously, this was a " Deadheads Dream ! " type Box Set - for the Beyond-Special occasion ... of 50-Years Upon Our Heads ! Fantastic, to say the least ... Wow !!! And This ! 30 Trips " 1992 " 3-CD Set selection offered here ... is indeed the Very-First ! Pro-Release ' Ever ' of North-Of-The-Border " Canadian ! " Live-Dead !! And ... So-Awesomely ! too - from the Tail-End ! of the Spring '92 Tour ! - Show 14 ( of 17 ) - on the 2nd to Last Tour-Stop ( of 7 ) - in Hamilton, Ontario Canada ! ... at the " Copps ! " Coliseum !! Just Gotta-Love-That ! Featuring actual " Mountie Cops !" in the Lot !! ( naturally ... ) - Ha ! I was fortunate enough to catch 5-Shows on this Spring '92 Tour - and, I'll distinctly remember - and will never-forget ! that the word on the street ( in the lot ! - naturally ... right-on Shakedown Street ! ) was that This ! Canada '92 Tour Stop was Massive ! - and This-Show ( 3/20/92 ) was a " Surprising-Beast ! " of a Canadian Dead Night ! - even being considerably late into this Tour. And, while the Help > Slip > Franklin's & Terrapin were kicked-down ( Big-Time ! ) on the 2nd Night ( 3/21 ) ... ' This-Show ! ' on 3/20 was unquestionably " The-Show !! ". Initially it seemed the pure " Precision ! " of the Atlanta ( Omni ) Tour-Opening 3-Night run would be real-hard to match, or more precisely - to consistently ' maintain ' throughout this Tour - and, the sheer " Infectious ( & Nonstop ! ) Energy !! " of the 2-Night Cap Centre run ( Hot ! ) to follow could quite possibly run much of the gas out of the tank !? But, what really happened was the best of Both-Worlds ! coagulated, and built ! - and grew ! into the central ( Mid-Atlantic ) stretch of this Tour - and then ... Way-Beyond ! too. I mean we're talking about a Nassau run ( 3-Shows ), a Spectrum run ( 3-Shows ), and too ... not to mention - a Hampton ! 2-Show stop ( just prior ) inside " The Spaceship ! ". Which, may I add were unfortunately two ( 2 ) " Stealth-Shows " ( with no GDTS mail order offered, or even advance tour dates ! ) - and because of it ... ' many of us ' just missed-em both ( ugggh. ). Ahhh ... the beauty of Deadhead-Scheduling ! - Ha !! But, this here Tour sure gained a super-momentum fast - and the " Tapes Hunt ! " was all of a sudden just So-On ! As I remember having close to all of them - literally right within The-Week ! - usually walking straight out of the house taper section with audience cassette masters, or at least 1st's. And, because the Band was playing so well --- and, not to mention " The-Scene ! " was just so unexplainably " Massive ! " ( good & bad ) --- these '92 Show Tix & Tapes quickly became the hottest-darn-tickets in town ! ( well, at least in the town you were currently driving in & through - Ha ! ). As after the Cap Centre > Hampton > Nassau > Spectrum " Madness " ( & Impressive ! Deliveries by the Band !! ) - All-Eyes ! were on the back-end Tour Stops - being not only that the " Heat Was On ! " ( Garcia was sure-shot in " The Jerry Zone ! " ( way-more-often than not ) ) - and ... the Band playing " The Copps ! " in Canada ( once-again ! after those Spring '90 run Smokers !! ). And also the 1st Shows Ever ! at " The Palace " in The Mit ! All real-exciting stuff at the time ( in Deadhead-Time ! ). As after all it was Pine Knob ! for the Motor City on the Summer '91 Mid-West swing, and as great as it was ( & pretty-darn Grate ! too - let me tell-you ! ) ... now the Circus was excitingly headed " indoors " into the Hoops-Friendly Alburn Hills ! Venue. But, out of these " Final Four " following the high-energy Spectrum stand ... This ! was IT !! -- in Canada ! and on the First-Night ! They knew it too - following 3/20 on 3/21 with the Help > Slip > Franklin's straight out of the starting gate - trying logically to " Segue ! The-Magic !! ". And as for it - 3/20 on Paper ? - it's pretty-darn ' There ' & all - but, my goodness do you have to give This-Show ( 3/20/1992 ! ) a Real-Hard-Listen !! What's that Good Ol' Saying again ? ... ' don't knock-it-until-you-try-it ' - and especially to all of the Old-timers & Pure-ists out-there ! ( Ha ! ). The Bucket Smokes ! and just sets the tone, and though it's no - say ... RFK 7/13/89 ! - it sure gets the job done. The Althea & Brown Eyed Women send the message that Jerry's got-it ( tight & clean ! - axe & vocals ) - with Ace wedging a little blues ditty right in-between, with Same Thing. The Mexicali card gets drawn by Bobby, with Garcia countering - by playing the Maggie's ! card ( while you could have just sworn the Uncle ! was realistically drawing-next ) - but no ! Garcia nothing short of Beautiful ! ( & Spacey ! ) on the Bird Song, and then Weir drives it right on home to the Promised Land ! I mean - for Spring '92 ? ... I'm going like 8.5 ( maybe even 8.5/9 ) here !? - can that really even possibly be-matched ( much less - get-beat ! ) in Set II ??! Answer = YES !!! And ... the next thing you know ... Nothing ! is Shakin' on Shakedown Street !! The Women sure-Are Smarter as Bobby just Reggaes ! it up ( while Jerry's-A-Flyin' ! ). Then, look out below ! ( y'all Canadian Mountie Copps ! - " Hey !! " ) ... because this-one's known as DARK STAR !!! Yes, oh yes & yes-indeed !! Garcia in command, with the Rhythm Devils just Hot-Counting ! the Intergalactic-Time ( & Space !! ). Into a Drums > Super-Space ! ( Hey Jerry ! ... don't things seem to be gettin' Weir-d !?! - Ha ! ) > then into the little-more ' extra-spicy-mustard ' on this Canadian Tofu Dog ! . . . The Other One !!! > Standing On The Moon !!! > Lovelight !!! Heck, might-as-well just pull the trigger on " Canadian Blues ! " at this-point ! - but, instead ... " you can call-this-song - the United-States Blues !! " -Wow. - Rad. What else is there really to even say here ? - as the Music ! sure-does the All-The-Talkin' !! And the next thing you know ... just ashes, cinders & minds-blown ! from an indeed " Extra-Special " Spring Tour 1992 ! Grateful Dead Red-Hot-Night ! Time now to sweep up those ashers & cinders ( & blown-minds ) - to get ready for Night 2 ! - where the Band manages to deliver even more !!! ( ashes, cinders ... Minds-Blown ! ). Nothing Like The Good Ol' ( 1992 ! ) Grateful Dead !! Dang, as what I wouldn't do to walk onto the floor & hunt for a spot on the rail ! of one of These-Shows ! here today - now close to 35-years ! later. Amazing. Just So-Amazing ! So yeah ... Cheers !! & Enjoy !!! ;-)
